Questions

Do I need to re-render or re-upload my video?

No. The styling lives in YouTube's own caption format, so Rainbow Captions adds caption tracks to the video you already published. The video file is never touched.

Where do the styled captions show up?

Anywhere YouTube plays your video with captions on: in the browser, in the YouTube app on phones and on TV. Viewers switch languages in the usual captions menu.

What can I do for free?

The editor and the live preview are free, and so are your first 10 translated languages, including upload to YouTube. Pro removes the limit.

Which subtitle files can I start from?

SRT, VTT, SBV, ASS/SSA, TTML or plain text. You can also pull the caption track that is already on your YouTube video.

Is this an official YouTube app?

No. Rainbow Captions is an independent Mac app. It publishes through YouTube's official API after you sign in with your Google account.
